Introduction to Fingerstyle Swing Guitar

Duck Baker is considered to be one of today’s finest fingerstyle swing guitarists. In this lesson he teaches the basics of how to put that swing in to your playing. This is not a lesson for beginners. Duck presumes that you can already fingerpick using an alternating bass technique in the style of Mississippi John Hurt or Chet Atkins. Duck shows you how to expand this style and take it to a different level so that you can fingerpick swing tunes. Along the way he explains and explores rhythm chords and changes that you will need to incorporate in to your playing. Four well known tunes from the swing repertoire are taught and the arrangement is then illustrated on a split- screen that clearly shows what each hand is performing. This lesson will help you develop your own individual technique for playing fingerstyle swing guitar. Tunes include: Redwing, I Got Rhythm, Bei Mier Bist Du Schoen and Never Swat A Fly. A detailed tab/music booklet is included as a PDF file on the DVD. “BUY NOW”

How to use guitar instead of bass (Article)

While trying to play some very difficult bass line which is much easier to be played on guitar in both, musical and technical sense,i was experimenting with some pitch shifting VST plugins, trying to pitch shift my guitar and use guitar instead of bass.I did not expect to match of that try but i found a plugin chain that works extremely well.In fact it works so good that no-musician can’t tell if it is played on guitar or bass.Even bass player can’t tell difference on first hearing.

Here it is: you need VST pitch shifter to transpose your guitar 12 semitones down and VST amp simulation. The second part is easy, there is many very good VST amp-fx-cabinets simulators. To mention few of them:Amplitube,Amplitube2,Guitar rig,Aura-pro etc…But first part-pitch shifter, is dificault. No one worked well, even expensive ones.Than I found FREE VST plugin that works great. That plugin even don’t have UI but sounds perfect.it is called pvtransp and can be found here:
