Customer Review: great gift for a Becker fan
My husband was ecstatic to get this. Though he is very saddened by Jason Becker’s condition. My husband plays guitar and can easily imagine the frustration of not being able to play anymore. There are a variety of clips, even school talent show recordings. We were very happy with this purchase.
Customer Review: One of the best Rock Guitar Players ¡Ever!
Jason Becker is an impressively gifted Rock Guitar player. He comes from the 80′s shredder school that gave us Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen and others. At the end of that decade he got sick and couldn’t play again. Here you have a chance to see some of his best performance, live and in the format of video clinics. If you love Rock Guitar, you will love this DVD. it is simply AWESOME. “BUY NOW”

Mel Bay presents Ana Vidovic: Guitar Virtuoso

Ana Vidovic is an extraordinary talent with formidable gifts taking her place amongst the elite guitarists of the world today. Her performance includes her favorite pieces by Bach, Torroba, Ponce, Paganini and Walton.
Customer Review: Ana Vidovic guitar
The girl is an excellent guitar player, but the video is amateurish. When she plays we never see her face. In the interview we do not see the interviewer.
The interview is way too long. I would have her play rather than talk.
There is no personal data: where is she from, how old she is, etc.
Customer Review: Guitarist to watch
Ana Vidovic is one to watch based on this and her Naxos recording. She is self-assured, musical, beautiful and courageous. How many of her peers would be willing to have their performance of so much virtuoso music filmed with no option to edit out errors? And yes, there were a few. Even Ana is not perfect. In fact, unfortunately, she hacks her way through the last movement of the Walton. One suspects that this was all filmed in one session, which is impressive in itself. The sound is not ideal–the recording, not Ana–it tended to be overly harsh. But certainly listenable. As a document of a performance, this is ideal. No annoying voice-overs. Even in the interview the questions appear in text on the screen rather than being spoken. So the only voice we hear here is Ana’s, which is as it should be.

A couple of insignificant critical comments: perhaps it was just the camera, but her stage presence seems utterly immobile. One hopes that in real life she might occasionally at least glance at the audience. Her manner in the interview was so self-assured and polished that I incongruously felt I was listening to a young tennis star being interviewed. Whoever is working with her is certainly earning their money. Ana’s English is also perfect. Oops, now I’m back to praising her! Well, she certainly deserves it. “BUY NOW”
